PLANS & POLICIES

The UBC Okanagan Sustainability Office takes a whole systems approach to develop campus sustainability and climate planning that addresses multiple areas including energy, carbon, water, rainwater, waste, landscape, ecology, biodiversity and engagement. Our approach supports a campus that is better able to plan for and respond to current and future sustainability and climate challenges.

Our campus sustainability plans and policies clearly outline our vision, goals and targets and strategies to continue sustainability and climate initiatives on campus.  Our plans are referenced to provide guidance for practices and requirements that result in operational and resource efficiency, community and ecosystem wellbeing and resilience.

Policy UP12 (previously Policy 92) is the policy that outlines the rules of land use, permitting and sustainability at UBC.  Provided here are UBC Okanagan Sustainability Plans and Guidelines established and approved through Policy UP12.
