UBC Technical Guidelines
The UBC Technical Guidelines serve as the code of quality and performance for the design, construction and renovation of University-owned institutional buildings. This includes housing, athletics and institutional buildings, along with landscape and infrastructure.
Anti-Idling Policy for Campus Fleets
Implemented in 2010 with the support of the Sustainability Office, Facilities Management implemented an anti-idling practice for the operation of facilities fleet. The purpose of the practice is to protect public health and improve the environment by reducing emissions while conserving fuel. Reducing fleet idling time reduces air pollution, noise and fuel consumption. Areas of focus include reducing unnecessary vehicle idling by shutting off engines when idle times are longer than 10-30 seconds, encouraging car-pooling, and encouraging walking and/or biking where possible.
UBC’s Supplier Code of Conduct
The UBC Supplier Code of Conduct (SCC) sets the ethical performance expectations for suppliers of goods, services or equipment to the University of British Columbia.
