The Learning Garden

The Learning Garden is a model school garden dedicated to promoting the principles of sustainable environmental practice, responsible stewardship of nature and interdisciplinary learning and knowledge. The garden was designed and built in 2006 by a group of Environmental Education students and Dr. Veronica Gaylie, education professor, supported by local businesses and two grants from the TD Canada Trust Foundation. It is used to educate Okanagan middle-school students about the benefits and joys of growing a garden.


Centre for Teaching and Learning

The Centre for Teaching and Learning at UBC’s Okanagan campus promotes and supports excellence in teaching and learning . The Centre provides campus-wide support for all models of teaching and learning, including online learning.

UBCO Clean Tech Innovation Hub

UBC Okanagan’s Clean Tech Hub promotes clean technologies that convert carbon-based additives and components into new, sustainable products. UBCO researchers will work with manufacturing, mining and lumber companies in Western Canada to explore how industrial waste can gain a second life as high-quality carbon products.
