UBC Okanagan’s Bachelor of Sustainability inspires students to understand and address complex environmental issues by integrating knowledge from different disciplines with hands-on and community-based learning.
The Learning Garden
A Learning Garden helps to promote the principles of sustainable environmental practice and responsible stewardship of nature while teaching and inspiring students and teachers on how to create their own gardens on school grounds. The Learning Garden at UBC Okanagan is located adjacent to the natural pond behind the Engineering, Management and Education building. It is made up of six raised planter boxes and a small greenhouse.
Centre for Teaching and Learning
The Centre for Teaching and Learning at UBC’s Okanagan campus promotes and supports excellence in teaching and learning . The Centre provides campus-wide support for all models of teaching and learning, including online learning.
UBCO Clean Tech Innovation Hub
UBC Okanagan’s Clean Tech Hub promotes clean technologies that convert carbon-based additives and components into new, sustainable products. UBCO researchers will work with manufacturing, mining and lumber companies in Western Canada to explore how industrial waste can gain a second life as high-quality carbon products.
